Lil' Fruit Tree Cabochon

This pretty round cabochon has an embossed stylised tree design.  After firing it was coated with a matte finish sepia coloured glaze which was sanded back to emphasise the detail.  The background and the individual fruits were hand painted in soft coordinating high gloss pastel glazes before a third firing.  The tree and trunk have been left matte for an interesting contrast in textures.
Measures 39mm in diameter by 6mm.
Cabochons are flat backed pieces with no holes. They can be used in bead embroidery, with wirework surround or can simply have a bail glued to the back for instant conversion to a pendant.
